Installation using anti slip TacTiles or double sided tape explained

Good installation is the basis for a neat and durable result. Whether it is an office a home or a trade show floor the right fixation method prevents carpet tiles from shifting and ensures they remain easy to replace.

Anti slip adhesive jerrycan 5 liters

The anti slip F41 is a high quality solvent free adhesive based on acrylic polymer. After drying the adhesive forms a permanently tacky layer that prevents carpet tiles from shifting. Tiles can later be removed or replaced without damaging the subfloor.

  • Adheres to subfloors such as concrete wood leveling compound PVC linoleum and vinyl
  • Coverage about 40 to 100 m² per 5 liter jerrycan dilutable with water

Use

Apply the adhesive evenly with a short pile roller or a brush. Allow the adhesive to dry to a transparent tacky film before laying the tiles. Press the tiles firmly especially at the edges. Make sure the adhesive is completely dry before placing the tiles to avoid permanent bonding.

Drying time about 20 minutes depending on temperature and humidity.

Cleaning clean tools immediately after use with warm water and soap.

Anti slip adhesive spray can

The Gekko G57 anti slip spray adhesive is perfect for quick installation or smaller areas. Thanks to the spray can you can easily apply an even layer of adhesive without a brush or roller.

  • Ideal for smaller areas edges and temporary fixations

Use

Shake the can well and hold it 10 to 15 cm away. Spray at a forty five degree angle with a steady movement. Apply the adhesive to the subfloor or to the back of the tile on PVC and let it flash off for 1 to 2 minutes until slightly tacky. Place the tiles and press them firmly.

Tip for heavily used floors optionally apply a second thin layer for extra adhesion.

TacTiles self adhesive connection stickers

TacTiles are transparent single sided adhesive stickers 75 x 75 mm that are placed under the corners of carpet tiles. They firmly connect the tiles to each other without adhesive on the floor. This keeps the subfloor completely undamaged.

Benefits

  • No adhesive residue on the subfloor
  • Flexible and easy to remove
  • Ideal for trade shows temporary floors and rental properties
  • About 4 to 5 TacTiles per m² needed

Use

Place one TacTile under the corners of four adjacent tiles and make sure they adhere well to the back of the tiles. Work from the center of the room toward the edges. For planks 25 x 100 cm attach one extra TacTile on each long side for additional reinforcement.

Double sided carpet tape

For smaller rooms or temporary applications double sided carpet tape is a practical solution. The tape provides immediate fixation of carpet tiles without requiring a full layer of adhesive.

Use

Apply the tape to the subfloor or under the carpet tiles at strategic points. Remove the protective film and press the tiles firmly. Note this tape can leave adhesive residue when removed and is therefore less suitable for permanent placement on delicate floors.


Frequently asked questions

Can I install carpet tiles on PVC or concrete

Yes you can. On PVC it is advisable to use anti slip so the tiles do not shift. On concrete it is important to make the subfloor clean and free of dust. Preferably use the anti slip adhesive or TacTiles here.

How can I lay carpet tiles securely without permanent damage

Use TacTiles. This fixation method keeps tiles firmly in place without damaging the subfloor.

Are TacTiles reusable

No TacTiles are intended for single use. After removal they lose their adhesive strength.
